In the December 2020 meeting, we welcome Liz Krznarich as Adoption Manager, announce the ROR community survey, and share recent blog posts and upcoming events. Development updates include reports on the continuing efforts to become independent from GRID. New ROR adopters include OJS (via a plugin), LC standards list, cOAlition S Journal Checker Tool, OA Switchboard, and DiSSCo. ORCID gives a report on its ongoing work to adopt ROR.

In the September 2020 meeting, we announce the new Adoption Manager role at ROR and give updates on other outreach activities as well as about efforts and messaging on sustainability planning. Development updates include reports on efforts to become independent from GRID via tech, schema, and curation workflows. Several ROR adopters share their work, including the Swiss National Foundation and the British Library.

  • Description: The bi-monthly ROR Community Advisory Group meeting includes updates from the ROR team, opportunities for feedback on ROR processes and policies, updates from ROR adopters, and more. In the May 2020 meeting, we hear reports on outreach efforts, including the first “Intro to ROR” webinar and the launch of a ROR YouTube channel. Development and curation updates include a new technical lead, improved metadata handling from GRID, and ongoing work on ORCID integration, with plans to streamline bulk submission of organizations to ROR. Community updates highlight efforts such as mapping ROR IDs at the US DOE and integrating ROR into OJS journals, with discussions about validating ROR IDs through additional metadata. Lastly, a publisher implementation group is forming, and timelines for Crossref and ORCID integrations are being set.

In he March 2020 meeting, we hear a report on the ROR meeting at PIDapalooza and future plans for webinars, blog posts, and support tailored to remote working due to COVID-19. Development updates include improvements in ROR’s search features, the integration of ROR into Crossref and ORCID, and ongoing work on metadata and department-level information. The curation team continues to refine workflows for ROR updates, and the ROR team continues to fundraise and consider other options to ensure ROR's sustainability.
